A Virgin Missing Adventure featuring the 5th Doctor, Tegan, and Nyssa. This is the second time in four years I've read this book and I had forgotten just about everything from the first time. It's a long adventure with a lot of TARDIS travel and a goodly amount of timey-whimeyness to keep the reader on one's toes. Nyssa, as wasn't unusual in Doctor Who, slept through the whole thing. I actually don't really have much to say about the story except that I thought it was too long. I enjoyed Richard's writing style and he got characterizations of the Doctor and Tegan spot on. Atkins was a great character, a proper British gentleman's gentleman. The surprise at the end was very nice. I still have a quibble with a scene where the Doctor, Tegan, and Atkins are bundled into a sarcophagus and pitched into the Thames... only to be in the TARDIS in the next scene. What?! I thought I had missed something but on re-reading the scene, I don't believe I did; just not sure what happened there. A long, fairly unremarkable story that oddly makes good use of the Doctor and companions. Your mileage may vary.
